Dr. Jillian Blueford (She/Her) is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the School Counselling Programme and related certificates at the University of Denver in Colourado. A Licensed Professional Counsellor (Colourado), National Certified Counsellor, and Fellow in Thanatology through the Association for Death Education and Counselling (ADEC), Dr. Blueford’s career spans education, clinical practise, research, and service. Since 2014, she has honed her expertise in grief counselling, supporting individuals and families across diverse settings, including schools, inpatient residencies, community agencies, and private practise. Her scholarship focuses on grief counselling training, trauma-informed grief counselling, and child and adolescent grief. Dr. Blueford’s research contributions include peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, webinars, panels, podcast features, and presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Blueford serves on the ADEC Board of Directors as Secretary (2023 - 2026) and recently led efforts to developing grief counselling best practises, which were endorsed by the American Counselling Association.
